THE CHALLENGE

The existing patio and covered back entry provided little useable space and prevented natural light from entering the home. The owners decided that this would be the new location of their sunroom. The clients wanted to:

  • Expand their outdoor patio area
  • Connect the sunroom with the existing home by using French doors
  • Add skylights and windows to give them a view of the backyard
  • Include in-floor heating for the winter months
  • Look at the existing rooflines

THE SOLUTION

Bartelt. The Remodeling Resource gave the owners:

  • A wall of windows and two rows of skylights
  • A concrete patio laid out and graded to direct rainwater away from the home
  • Tile floors with in-floor heating
