THE CHALLENGE
The owner purchased this 1920s farmhouse in 1998. The client decided to update the kitchen and create room for entertaining. The owners wanted to:
- Build cabinetry that matched the quarter sawn oak found in the formal dining room and other living spaces
- Have an “arts and crafts” style
- Increase the size of the kitchen for entertaining and the bedroom space upstairs

THE SOLUTION
Bartelt. The Remodeling Resource gave the owner:
- Granite countertops
- Quarter sawn oak cabinetry with crown molding and furniture-style legs
- Leaded glass windows from the old farmhouse
- An open concept pantry with a built-in wine rack and a buffet
- Refinished hardwood floors
- An island area
