THE CHALLENGE

The owner purchased this 1920s farmhouse in 1998. The client decided to update the kitchen and create room for entertaining. The owners wanted to:

Build cabinetry that matched the quarter sawn oak found in the formal dining room and other living spaces
Have an “arts and crafts” style
Increase the size of the kitchen for entertaining and the bedroom space upstairs

THE SOLUTION

Granite countertops
Quarter sawn oak cabinetry with crown molding and furniture-style legs
Leaded glass windows from the old farmhouse
An open concept pantry with a built-in wine rack and a buffet
Refinished hardwood floors
An island area
