THE CHALLENGE

Our clients were attracted to the sophisticated architectural details of this home and were seeking a remodeler that specialized in historic renovation. The clients wanted to:

  • Use the historic entryway to set the tone for the project
  • Preserve the antique stain glass lighting, wrought iron staircase, and plaster archways
  • Create a common theme to connect all the living spaces
  • Make the kitchen conducive to hosting dinner parties and open up the space

THE SOLUTION

Bartelt. The Remodeling Resource gave the owners:

  • A new location for the formal dining room
  • An open concept in the back of the house that flowed into the dining room
  • An improved mudroom
  • A functional space by eliminating the servants staircase
  • Architectural details that mirrored the existing front entrance of the home
